On Our Radar 2024
With so many destinations to choose from and only 365 days to a year, you have to be intentional with your travel plans. Here are five destinations Swoon Worthy Travel thinks you should consider and why we love them for you.
Sacred Valley | Peru
Peru’s seemingly immeasurable natural wonders, vibrant culture, and delicious food are just a few reasons this South American nation should be on your radar. You've heard of Machu Picchu and all its glory, but Peru's Sacred Valley—once at the heart of the Incan Empire—has so much more to offer. As one of the few places where the Incas beat the Spaniards, its ruins are some of the most well preserved, granting a vivid peek into Peru’s rich cultural heritage. With less foot-traffic and a plethora of ancient fortresses, striking landscapes, and architectural sites to explore, it won’t be much longer until the Sacred Valley as a whole is at the top of every traveler’s bucket list.
Phuket and Koh Samui | Thailand
Koh Samui and Phuket (Thailand's largest island) boast more than 30 bays and beaches straight out of your dreams. Travelers can pick from a variety of jaw-dropping accommodations ranging from verdant jungle hideaways to lavish coastal villas for relatively reasonable prices. It may be far, but it's without question worth the trip whether you're traveling solo, with your beau, or with the kids. The wildlife is amazing, the food is mouthwatering, and there are almost too many activities to choose from. We're talking sunrise yoga on the beach, tours of ornate temples and Thai history, boat trips to stunning nearby islands... and plenty of family-friendly options, too. Skip monsoon season and ask your SWT advisor about creating a custom itinerary to visit Phuket and/or Koh Samui between December and April. Who knows... maybe you'll be ringing in the New Year 12 hours ahead of everyone on the East Coast and letting us know what 2025 looks like.
Athenian Riviera | Greece
At Swoon Worthy Travel, we believe Athens is greatly underrated. In addition to the truly awesome monuments like the Acropolis and Parthenon, the city has great energy, gorgeous views, and the food is next level. What's more, just 30 minutes outside of the city has you at the Athenian Riviera: the place to vacation for the who's who of global politics and Hollywood stars of the 1960's (think: Jackie O., Nelson Mandela, Frank Sinatra). Within the last five years we've seen a complete revival of the area, glitz and glamor included. If you're looking for classic luxury, elegant accommodations, chic decor, and a real scene, the Athenian Riviera is definitely for you. Greece in general is one of Swoon Worthy Travel's favorite destinations and most popular places to book for clients. We can't wait to help you claim your place among the star-studded visitors in the Athenian Riviera.
Niseko | Japan
Niseko, Japan is the undisputed "powder capital of the world" which, for those who don't know, is a huge fluffing deal. The island in the north of Japan boasts four ski areas that have seen at times over 12 feet of fresh powder from one storm 😮. Niseko is a must-visit for more advanced snow bunnies out there due to the epic annual snowfall and technical terrain. With so many trails between the four resorts, it's a ski destination for all levels. If you're not hitting the slopes, you'll still have an amazing time soaking in the island's natural hot springs and partaking in the aprés-ski scene enjoyed by skiers and non-skiers alike. There are great hotels to choose from and some pretty fabulous ski chalets we can reserve for your stay ❄️.
Sydney | Australia
Down under, where the sun-kissed shores meet the iconic skyline, Sydney, Australia isn't just a city; it's a lifestyle. Famous for postcard views and architectural marvels, the seamless blend of cosmopolitan vibes and natural splendor gives off a captivating energy that keeps people coming back for more. Bondi Beach (a surfer's paradise) and the Sydney Opera House are only a sample of what the city's diverse neighborhoods have to offer. Foodies obsess over the multicultural culinary scene, history buffs have a rich and complex history of the nation's indigenous culture to discover, and party people rave about the nightlife offering a mix of rooftop bars, hidden speakeasies, and energetic clubs. With nonstop flights from four major US cities—and the comprehensive support of your SWT team—a trip to Sydney has never been easier 🇦🇺✨.
