From a full day Jeep safari on Crete to a semi private sunset sail off of Santorini and a local volcanic wine tasting, their itinerary is the perfect blend of history, relaxation, food, and exploration—exactly how they wish to celebrate.
R+J will spend a swoon worthy week in Spain indulging in all the vibrant culture has to offer. SWT was happy to arrange private tours of the Royal Palace and Museo de Prado in Madrid and dinner one evening at the oldest restaurant in the world in continuous operation. A 30-minute train ride will take them to Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "city of the three cultures" for its history of peaceful coexistence between Jews, Muslims, and Christians. Their private tour will lead them through 2,000 years of mystery and culture. Highlights of their time in their final city, Seville, include a special flamenco performance and a private tour of the city. Of course, the real highlight will be the delicious comida they get to enjoy throughout the week.
After two nights in Lucerne, Switzerland and a night in Ladispoli, Italy, three couples are embarking on a ten-night cruise around the Mediterranean. Beginning in Rome and ending in Venice, their itinerary will take them through a couple more stops in Italy before visiting ports in Malta, Greece, Montenegro, and Croatia. At each port, they'll delve into the history of the region, with shore excursions ranging from visits to ancient cities and ruins from the Roman empire, to tours of medieval castles and picturesque villages. Their on-board experience, however, will be entirely modern, as the 650-passenger ship was renovated just last year.
M+J are heading to Greece to celebrate M’s birthday and finally take the honeymoon they wish they’d had 44 years ago. We've made sure they'll see all the classics, and then some. Three nights in Athens leaves plenty of time for a visit to the Acropolis, personalized massages at SWT's partner property Hotel Grande Bretagne, and a Jewish history tour of the ancient city. On Mykonos, they'll dine at some of the tastiest restaurants and take a private guided day trip to the island of Delos, the birthplace of Apollo. Santorini highlights include a sunset sail bound for hot springs and multiple beaches and a guided tour through the archeological site of the pre-historic settlement of Akrotiri. Finally, on Crete, they'll have little need to leave their luxurious oceanside resort, except to spend a day touring the mysterious Spinalong Island—the last known leper colony in Europe before it was shut down in 1957. On their way back, they'll stop in a coastal village whose lake is rumored to be bottomless and filled with secrets.
